Corporate demerger: Database split & data platform

This end-to-end data engineering engagement was for Eurolife FFH, a leading Greek insurance group undergoing a corporate demerger. The acquisition by a private equity fund necessitated a complete separation of shared database infrastructure into two independent, fully operational systems.

What the project involves

The core challenge was to cleanly partition years of interleaved insurance data—policies, claims, financials—across two new database instances without data loss or integrity issues. This required redesigning data models to reflect the new entity boundaries, rebuilding ETL pipelines in SSIS to route data to the correct target systems, and validating consistency across the split through extensive SQL logic.
